Is Your Website Safe? Posted on September 26, 2017October 22, 2019 by SureCritic Earlier this year, Google announced that Chrome will “mark HTTP pages that collect passwords or credit cards as non-secure, as part of a long-term plan to mark all HTTP sites as non-secure.” What does this mean for you? If your website is not HTTPS (aka secure) your website will show up as non-secure. With HTTP it is a breeze for hackers to modify your website. Previously, Google did not make it obvious if a website was not secure. Now, websites in Chrome will show up like this: HTTPS is fairly cheap to have and brings a plethora of benefits. It verifies your integrity between the website and a computer, ensuring that confidential information does not get into the wrong hands. Find more information about HTTPS here or see the original announcement from Google here. Contact your website host to make your website secure and trustworthy!
